Start Here Exhibition to Include Webster CSD Student Art

Start Here is an annual art exhibition featuring student work selected by high school and middle school teachers from throughout the Rochester and Finger Lakes region. When it opens on Friday, January 17, the works of several Webster Schroeder and Webster Thomas high schools’ students will be among those on display.

Representing Webster Schroeder in this year’s exhibit are: seniors Abigail G. and Gabrielle N., juniors Ella M., Devon G., and Itahlia P., sophomore Hunter J., and freshman Molly C. Representing Webster Thomas in this year’s exhibit are: seniors Max D., Evelyn F., and Jordan L., junior Alaina K., and freshmen Dante L. and Libbie M.

Adding to the excitement is that two of these artists had their works selected to be included in the exhibit’s promotional poster. A painting by Evelyn F. and a sculpture by Alaina K. are among the eight pieces pictured on the flyer.
 
The opening reception for Start Here is Friday, January 17, 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Bevier Gallery at Rochester Institute of Technology. Awards commence at 6:00 p.m. in the Webb Auditorium (beneath the gallery). The pieces remain on exhibit through Sunday, February 1.
 
The Bevier Gallery, at Booth Hall 2600, RIT Campus, is free and open to the public. Parking in Lots E or F is free after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends. Gallery hours are Monday and Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 12:00 – 5:00 p.m.
