Prekindergarten is a New York State funded program specifically designed for 4-year-olds not eligible for kindergarten. Each year Webster CSD invites eligible children who reside in the district to apply. The district is pleased to be able to offer our community full-day (five hours) and half-day (2.5 hours) options. Transportation is not part of this state-funded program.

The play-based program engages students in social and emotional skills with a heavy emphasis on communication. The full-day program is housed in all seven of the district’s elementary schools and in our high schools - Webster Schroeder and Webster Thomas - plus child care partners. Half-day program is also available at STARS preschool. Locations are determined by the lottery and according to the child's home catchment for kindergarten.  For locations with wrap care, this wrap care will come at an additional cost and is Monday through Friday commitment.  We are current partners with Expressive Beginnings, Kids First and are working through the Request for Proposal process with other child care agencies at this time.

The preK program is five days a week, Monday - Friday, and follows the Webster CSD school calendar. When Webster K-5 students have off, preK students do not have school.
