This annual national competition recognizes outstanding high school artists. Entries are judged regionally by local artists and college art professors at Alfred University’s College of Art. Awards are given at three levels: Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention for both individual works and portfolios. All Gold Key-winning pieces advance to the national competition, with winners to be announced in June.

The district's success extends beyond the Scholastic Art Awards. At the Start Here student art exhibit held in January at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), two Webster CSD students also earned top honors. Evelyn F. (Webster Thomas) received the School for Arts Fine Arts Studio’s 2D Award, and Brielle N. (Webster Schroeder) won the Bevier Gallery Award, presented to the artist demonstrating overall excellence. This juried exhibit features works selected by RIT's art and design faculty from submissions across the Rochester-Finger Lakes region.
